Awareness camp on animal disease at Lala Lajpat Rai University
Hisar: The Directorate of Extension Education of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Animal and Veterinary Sciences organised an awareness camp for villagers on foot-and-mouth disease among animals. For the past few years, Haryana has seen an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease among the livestock. The main reason for the spread of infection is direct contact with sick animals, infected feed, water and clothes, shoes and hands of the person taking care of the sick animal.
Don among top scientists
Faridabad: Dr Smita S Kumar, Assistant Professor at Department of Environmental Science and Engineering of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has been featured in the list of “World’s Top 2% Scientists” in the field of environmental sciences and biotechnology. The list was prepared by Stanford University. Every year, the university releases data for the top 2 per cent of researchers across the world based on their research publications. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dinesh Kumar congratulated Dr Smita for bringing laurels to the university with her outstanding research work.
Atal tinkering lab started
Ambala: Atal Tinkering Lab was inaugurated at Tulsi Pulic Senior Secondary School, Hisar road, Ambala City, by Naresh Chopra, president, Retired Engineers Welfare Association. HB Munjal, chairman, Tulsi Group, formally welcomed all guests. The occasion was also graced by Abhishek from Atal Innovation Mission, who provided a three-day training to the staff and students of the school.
National Unity Day celebrated
Ambala: Students of Bhartiya Public School, Ambala Cantt, took the unity pledge on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Principal Munish Jain said the aim of the activity was to sensitise students to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation.
Professor gets recognition
Hisar: Professor Narsi Ram Bishnoi of the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology has got recognition in the database of 2 per cent most influential scientists from all over the world for her research performance during 2020 in the database prepared annually by scientists from Stanford University and published by Elsevier.
NSS volunteer shines
Yamunanagar: The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, organised the NSS north zone pre-Republic Day parade camp at Biyani College of Science and Management, Kalwad, Jaipur. In the camp, Guru Nanak Khalsa College’s Meenakshi Kant, a promising NSS volunteer, brought laurels to the college by participating in it. Principal Dr (Major) Harinder Singh Kang said Kant represented Kurukshetra University at the national-level camp.
Thali-decoration contest organised
Yamunanagar: Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhri, organised thali-decoration, candle-decoration and rangoli-making competitions. The programme was organised by Professor Seema Jain, head of commercial arts department of the college. Principal Dr PK Bajpai inspired the participants to take active part in such competition.
