Bar association unveils Ambedkar’s portrait to mark Constitution Day

The District Bar Association, Rohtak, marked Constitution Day on Wednesday by unveiling a life-size portrait of Dr BR Ambedkar in its library. The portrait was revealed by District and Sessions Judge Neerja Kulwant Kalson, with the former Chairman of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana also in attendance.

Speaking on the occasion, Judge Neerja extended her warm wishes on Constitution Day and highlighted Dr Ambedkar’s contributions, emphasising his vision for social justice, equality and liberty.

Dr Ahlawat recalled that the Dr BR Ambedkar Library was inaugurated in 2010 by the then Chief Justice of India, Dr KG Balakrishnan. “Today is a proud moment for the Bar Association, Rohtak, as the portrait of the father of the Indian Constitution is unveiled in this historic institution, which was established in 1888,” he said.

Among those present were Additional District Judges Rajni Yadav, Sandeep Kumar Duggal, Shelender Singh, Anil Kaushik, Kapil Rathee and Bhupender Kumar, along with District Bar Association president Deepak Hooda, vice-president Ajay Ohlan, general secretary Raj Karan Panghal and joint secretary Dimple.
