Residents of Dabur Colony, situated along the Bypass Road in Bhiwani town, have been grappling with choked sewerage for the past two years, leaving the locality mired in filth and stench.

The blocked lines result in overflowing and backflow of wastewater, which stagnates in the streets and creates unhygienic conditions.

Shiv Kumar Prajapati, a resident, said the problem has severely affected daily life. “The problem began when the department concerned, instead of repairing the deteriorated system, filled the blocks with sand. This negligence has caused continuous waterlogging,” he alleged.

He added that the situation had become so bad that slippery roads often lead to accidents. “Several residents have slipped, fallen and sustained injuries because of the dirty water and slick streets,” he said.

Locals claim they have repeatedly raised the issue with officials and elected representatives, including the Municipal Councillor and the MLA, but no action has been taken. The inaction, they said, has only heightened public frustration.

The residents have urged the district administration to take immediate measures to resolve the crisis, warning that they will be left with no option but to protest if remedial steps are not initiated soon.
