Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya has suspended sarpanch of Birad Majra gram panchayat due to irregularities. As per the order issued, the suspension follows sarpanch’s failure to take action regarding the alteration of the pond’s shape by filling it with soil, as well as non-compliance with other directives.

The Deputy Commissioner issued the suspension order under the powers granted by Section 51(1) of the Haryana Panchayati Raj Act, 1994. In addition, the Deputy Commissioner appointed the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Beri, as the investigation officer to look into the matter.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
