Miscreants allegedly robbed Rs 20 lakh from a businessman on Jagadhri-Paonta Sahib national highway near Shahjahanpur village of Yamunanagar district.

On the complaint of businessman Ashish Aggarwal of Pratap Nagar, a case was registered against unidentified persons under Sections 309 (6) and 126 of BNS at Chhachhrauli police station.

In his complaint to the police, Aggarwal said that he was into several businesses, including that of rice milling.

He said that when he and his driver reached near Shahjahanpur village at about 1 am on October 23, a black car, which was without number plate, came from behind. The black car stopped in front of his car.

“Two masked men came out and broke the windscreen of my car by hitting it with iron rods. They pushed me and my driver out from my car by pointing pistols at us. One of the miscreants drove away with my car and the other one took the black car towards Chhachhrauli side. A bag containing Rs 20 lakh cash was in the car,” the complainant told the police.

He said that the police were informed about the incident immediately. “My car was found standing near Urjani village and the bag containing Rs 20 lakh cash was missing,” the complainant told the police.
