We are getting unprecedented support from all sections of society for the MC polls in the backdrop of development works undertaken by the double-engine government at the Centre and the state over the past 10 years. We will win the municipal polls hands down.”

-- Mohan Lal Badoli, BJP chief

Still basking in the glory of its hat-trick after the Assembly polls in October last year, the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to realise its dream of forming the triple government in the state. “We are getting unprecedented support from all sections of society for the MC polls in the backdrop of development works undertaken by the Central and the state government over the past 10 years. We will win the municipal polls hands down,” BJP state chief Mohan Lal Badoli said.

Meanwhile, two state ministers — Vipul Goel and Rajesh Nagar — will oversee the election for the Municipal Corporation(MC) Faridabad while minister Mahipal Dhanda and local MLA Jagmohan Anand will be the conveners for the Karnal MC.

Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal and former minister Kamal Gupta will hold the fort in Hisar. Incidentally, Jindal’s mother, Savitri Jindal, who defeated Kamal Gupta, BJP’s official candidate, in the Assembly polls, has been supporting the BJP government.

State minister Krishan Lal Panwar and local MLA Pramod Vij will supervise the Panipat MC polls (elections on March 9). For the Rohtak MC polls, minister Arvind Sharma and former minister Manish Grover will be the conveners. Deputy Speaker Krishan MIddha and Sonepat MLA Nikhil Madan will lead the BJP campaign for the Sonepat MC.

Local MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora and ex-minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar have been appointed as the conveners for Yamunanagar while minister Anil Vij and former minister Aseem Goel will spice up the BJP campaign in Ambala.

State minister Rao Narbir Singh and local MLA Mukesh Sharma will lead the poll campaign in Gurugram. State minister Arti Singh Rao and senior leader Satya Prakash Jrawta will be the conveners for the newly constituted MC of Manesar.
