The protesters expressed their anger over the indecent remarks made by a speaker against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother during Voter Adhikar Yatra stage in Bihar recently.
Mayor Suman Bahamani, who led the protest, said insulting the PM’s mother from the stage was not only an attack on a particular person, but also an assault on the Indian culture and the dignity of every mother and woman.
“The insulting words coming out from the Congress stage show that the party neither respects Indian culture nor the sentiments of the country,” she added. Making indecent comments on the mother of a leader, who is responsible for the security, development of the nation, is like hurting the identity of the entire country,” the Mayor said.
She said people had rejected Congress, therefore its leaders were crossing all limits and stooping to the lowest level.
Senior BJP leader Rosy Malik Anand said, “No matter how many abuses the Congress hurls, the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will continue to move on the path of service and development of the country.”
Mahila Morcha district president Preeti Jauhar said the use of derogatory language against the PM’s mother was an insult to Indian culture and democratic traditions.
