"The BJP stole votes and won Haryana by deceit. We will not let them do it again," claimed Congress MP Deepender Hooda, who was in Gurugram today to chair an oath-taking ceremony of over 450 office-bearers of the Youth Congress.

Training the guns on the BJP, he said it did not give two hoots to political and democratic morals and stopped low to claim victory in the state.

"The BJP is doing all it takes to be in power. It fudged voter records, and now we have proof. The Congress is reorganising itself, and from next elections, we will sit and verify each voter and ensure that the election results are fair," said Hooda.

Congratulating the office-bearers, including the newly elected president, Nishit Kataria — the son of former MLA Sukhbir Kataria — Hooda said the Congress was more united than ever.

Party state president Udai Bhan also attacked the 'double-engine' government and said party leader Rahul Gandhi had exposed the Election Commission. "The Constitution is under threat, as is democracy as all constitutional institutions have been compromised. The Election Commission — the custodian of democratic freedom and fairness — is toothless and spineless. Rahul Gandhi has exposed the truth of the dummy commission, which has no answer. The state Assembly election results were also manipulated. We have enough proof and we will go door to door to highlight the murder of democracy," said Bhan.
