The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the district president of the BKU, Sanju Gundiana, who said the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana was also discussed.

He said the crop insurance amount was being forcibly deducted from the accounts of farmers who had taken agricultural loans from banks.

Under the government policy, if a farmer did not want to get his crop insured, he would submit a form in the bank stating that he did not want to get insurance. “After submitting the form, the bank will send an OTP to the farmer's mobile phone. If the farmer gives the OTP to the bank, the money will not be deducted. If the farmer fails to do so, the insurance amount is deducted from his account,” he said.

“On the one hand, the government says that you should not share your OTP with anyone, and on the other hand, it is bringing a policy, under which the risk of cyber fraud remains,” he stated.

He also demanded a girdawari pertaining to the diseased paddy crop.

The union submitted a memorandum to the City Magistrate in the name of the Deputy Commissioner regarding their problems.
