The body of a 10-year-old girl, who went missing four days ago from a colony under the Quilla police station jurisdiction, was found from a canal near Sitawali village in Sonepat on Thursday. Enraged over police inaction, her family blocked Babbail road and raised slogans against the police.

The Mohana police in Sonepat sent the body to the Civil Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.

As per information, the girl went missing on March 10, and her father filed a police complaint the same day. He also submitted a complaint to the SP two days ago, in which he accused Sandeep of Babail road of kidnapping his daughter.

Her family and neighbours blocked traffic in the afternoon, too, against the police. However, the police pacified them, but as soon as they got information about the recovery of her body, they again blocked the road.

SI Suresh, Quilla SHO, said the postmortem would be conducted on Friday. The suspect was on the run, he added.
