Gurugram: The body of a teenaged girl was found in the bushes along the Southern Peripheral Road in the Badshahpur area here. The matter came to light around 8 pm on Wednesday night after a passerby saw the body and informed the police. They have kept her body in the mortuary for identification. A senior police officer said, “The victim seems to be around 16 years old. While the cause of the death would ascertained after the autopsy, we are assuming she died death due to some disease as no injury marks were found on her body.” OC

Gurugram resident duped of Rs 56L

Gurugram: A resident of Sector 51, Debraj Mitra, fell victim to fraudsters who, posing as officials of the CBI and DCP cybercrime unit in Mumbai, duped him of over Rs 56 lakh. The accused, claiming to have connections with the Mumbai underworld, deceived the victim by alleging his involvement in a money laundering case. An FIR was registered at the cybercrime police station, West, on Thursday. OC

2 women held for drug smuggling

Gurugram: The police have arrested two women from Jharkhand on charges of drug smuggling and seized over 24 kg of marijuana from their possession. They have been identified as Devyanti Devi from Gumla district and Sandhya Kachhap from Ranchi district in Jharkhand. Both were arrested on Tuesday night. “During interrogation, it was revealed that they had procured marijuana from Ranchi at a rate of Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 per kg and intended to sell it in Gurugram for profit,” said police spokesperson Subhash Boken. Cabbie robbed in Gurugram

Gurugram: A cab driver reportedly fell into a trap when he searched for a parlour in Gurugram on Google and was subsequently lured to a location in Sector 39 by unidentified miscreants, who then robbed his cab and severe physical assault. An FIR was filed at the Sadar police station. The accused lured him into arriving at plot number 409 in Sector 39. When he reached there around 4.30 am, a man seized his mobile phone, and three others approached, forcibly taking his car keys and confining him within his vehicle.
