Panchkula, December 29

Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Sandeep Singh on Wednesday ordered the registration of an FIR against five officials for alleged irregularities in “dhaincha” seed distribution at Raipur Rani.

He was presiding over a District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting at the PWD Rest House in Sector 1 here.

“It’s a serious matter. The culprits should be dealt with strict action,” he said.

In July, the minister had suspended the then District Mining Officer Om Dutt Sharma “for his failure to stop rampant illegal mining in the district”.

As many as 24 complaints were taken up at the meeting, in which local MLA and Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and DC Mahavir Kaushik were also present.
