Fatehabad’s Town Planning Department took strict action on Friday against an illegal colony being developed on 5 acres along the Khairi Road, Bhuna. Led by DTP Anju Duhan, the team, under the guidance of Duty Magistrate and Municipality Engineer Narendra Singh Panwar, reached the site and demolished the colony’s boundary wall and two Development Plan Committee (DPC) structures using bulldozers.

The colony was being illegally developed by some private property dealers. Despite earlier notices issued by the department, the construction continued, and plots were being sold by misleading buyers.

Inspector Pushpa from the DTP Department stated that after receiving information, an inspection was conducted. The site was surrounded by boundary walls and two DPCs were prepared for residential construction. Immediate action was taken to demolish all unauthorised constructions.

Duhan warned that no illegal colony would be allowed to develop in Bhuna. The citizens were urged to verify the legality of any colony before purchasing plots. Building houses in illegal colonies would be the sole responsibility of the buyers. Complaints would be filed against the colonisers with the police and FIRs registered. Junior Engineer Sandeep Kumar, JE Ankit Bishnoi, Suresh Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, and Karamveer Singh were present at the site. — OC
