The boxing team of Sports University, Rai, gave an outstanding performance at the Khelo India University Games 2025, held in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.

A total of six boxers, who had qualified through the All India Inter-University Boxing Championship 2025, represented the university under the coaching leadership of Dr Sandeep Kumar, Assistant Professor (sports biomechanics) and chief coach, boxing, showcased exceptional skill and commitment.

The team secured four medals:

Aryan Yadav (75 kg) – gold medal; Mohini (52 kg) – silver medal; Sheetal (50 kg) – bronze medal; and Shivani (54 kg) – bronze medal.

The achievement is historic, as the Sports University of Haryana emerged as the highest medal-winning university in the state in boxing.

With this remarkable performance, the university secured the 39th rank nationally among approximately 1,150 universities in the country, a matter of immense pride.

Vice-Chancellor Ashok Kumar congratulated the players and the coaching staff, acknowledging their dedication, discipline, and hard work. He stated that “the university will not leave any stone unturned to facilitate our sportspersons and further enhance their performance. Providing them with world-class support and opportunities remains our priority.”

Yogesh Chander, Dean, Academic Affairs, expressed great pride in the achievement, stating that “within just two years of its establishment, the Sports University of Haryana has demonstrated exceptional progress and excellence at the Khelo India University Games, setting new benchmarks for sporting performance and academic integration.”
