The fire is believed to have been caused by a short circuit, which ignited a diesel-filled drum and quickly spread to the entire verandah where the animals were tied.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire started in the late hours of the night and spread rapidly, engulfing the cattle enclosure. The animals, including four buffaloes and two calves, were trapped inside and perished in the fire.

The farmer, Bhup Singh, suffered significant losses, estimated to be in lakhs of rupees.

Neighbours noticed the flames and immediately alerted other villagers and informed the Fire Department and Narnaund police station.
