Panipat: A major fire broke out on the second floor of a home furnishing plant in the Industrial area, Sector 25, Part-2 on Sunday. As many as 15 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. The exact cause of the fire is not clear. So far, no loss of life was reported in the incident. The fire broke out at a bath mat manufacturing unit, Vayda Overseas, under suspicious circumstances. The security guard saw the flames and immediately informed the factory owner and the fire brigade. Amit Goswami, leading fireman of the Fire Department, said 15 fire engines were pressed into service. The fire tenders belonged to Panipat district, NFL, Thermal and IOCL refinery .
