Mahendragarh: A Narnaul fast-track special court of Additional Sessions Judge KP Singh has awarded 20-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) to a man after convicting him in a case of kidnapping and raping a minor girl five years ago. It has also slapped a penalty of Rs 1.70 lakh on the convict. The district police spokesman said the victim’s family got a case registered against Shamsher Singh of Bahu Jhholari village (Jhajjar) in Kanina police station of the district in November 2019. “In the complaint, the family members alleged that the victim had been abducted by the accused but it was found during investigation that the accused had also raped her. Acting on the complaint, the accused was arrested after being booked under Sections 363, 366A of the IPC and Section 6 of the POCSO act,” he added.
