A man was injured after being shot at in Sutana village here on Thursday morning.

The injured is a brother-in-law of Ritu Devi, the sarpanch of the village. The assailant shot two-three rounds at him, and fled the scene.

The injured has been identified as Sonu of Sutana village, while the assailant has been identified as Ashwani, alias Kallu, of the same village.

On receiving information about the incident, DSP (Headquarters) Satish Vats reached the hospital to inquire about the matter. According to information, Sonu had gone to his fields on his motorcycle in the morning. While returning back to his home, Ashwani, who was in a car, hit his motorcycle, after which the victim fell down, and the accused opened fire on him.

Sonu sustained bullet injuries, and the victim’s family immediately rushed him to a private hospital in the city.

Vats said Sonu’s condition was stable. A case has been registered against the accused based on a complaint by Sonu under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Arms Act, he added.
