Buyer held in connection with recovered 1-kg heroin

Chamkaur Singh, a police spokesman said the accused was identified as Ankit of Kesar Nagar of Jagadhri city.
He said he was produced before a court on Saturday and the court sent him to four days police remand.
The said team had arrested two persons Sartaj and Nahim, both residents of Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh on Friday with 1.103 kg heroin from near the bridge of Western Yamuna Canal in Yamunanagar.
Producing before a court in Jagadhri, the accused Sartaj and Nahim were taken on five days police remand.
Anil Rana, in-charge of Anti Burglary and Excise-cum-Special Staff, Yamunanagar, said that his team conducted an investigation in the heroin case and arrested Ankit of Kesar Nagar, Jagadhri.
He said Sartaj and Nahim were to supply the said consignment of heroin to Ankit.
He further said Ankit had previously been facing cases of possessing illegal weapons, drug trafficking and snatching.
He said he was released from jail on bail only a month and half ago.
He added that Ankit had previously brought heroin from Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh twice.
“In the case of the seized 1.103 kg heroin, some cash was to be paid after the delivery and some cash was already paid. Ankit has now been taken on police remand to uncover further details in the case,” said incharge Anil Rana.
