Hisar: The Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Hisar, Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Narsiram Bishnoi, on Monday interacted with students of six department under the programme "Direct dialogue with students". He urged students to devote full time to studies and attend classes regularly. He interacted with students and teachers in departments of chemistry, pharmacy, food technology, printing technology, mass communication and mathematics. He also reviewed classroom operations. He said first stakeholders of the university were students. He said, "It is responsibility of the university administration and teachers to make students dedicated towards nation. For this, it is necessary for students to be disciplined. This is possible only when students attend class regularly and study with concentration." He said international-level facilities were available in the university and students should take full advantage of them.

Red Cross training camp organised

Sirsa: A district level youth Red Cross Training Camp was inaugurated on Monday at JCD Shikshan Mahavidyalaya, JCD Vidyapeeth, Sirsa, marking the beginning of a five-day event with participation of over 12 teams from local colleges. Sponsored by the Indian Red Cross Society, Haryana, the camp aims to train youth in first aid, disaster management and humanitarian service. Dr Rajesh Bansal, Registrar, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, presided over the inauguration. In his address, he emphasised the importance of youth involvement in social service, urging them to act promptly in emergencies and contribute to humanitarian causes. Prof Jai Prakash, Director General, JCD Vidyapeeth, highlighted the camp's role in fostering leadership and social responsibility. Lal Bahadur Beniwal, Secretary, Red Cross Sirsa, shared the organisation's objectives and significance of emergency services. Through various training sessions and activities, the camp aims to empower students and inspire them towards social service.

AIDS awareness rally

Hisar: An AIDS awareness rally was organised by the Red Ribbon Club and NCC Army wing (Boys) at Dayanand College, Hisar, under the guidance of the Haryana State AIDS Control Society, as part of the institution's 75th-anniversary celebrations. The rally was flagged off by Principal Dr Vikramjit Singh, who emphasised on the importance of awareness in combating HIV/AIDS. He urged students to understand the disease, its causes and to seek medical advice without hesitation. Dr Archana Malik, in-charge, Red Ribbon Club, highlighted the role of such programmes in dispelling misconceptions. NCC officer Dr Hemant Sharma and club members also attended the rally. TNS
