Metro labs set up at central varsity

Mahendragarh: The Central University of Haryana (CUH) recently inaugurated metro labs at the School of Engineering and Technology. The state-of-the-art facility aims to revolutionise metro railway engineering education by bridging classroom learning with real-world applications. On the occasion, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Central University of Haryana and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Academy for mutual collaboration. Ghanshyam Bansal, Director General, DMRC Academy, was the chief guest at the event. Vice-Chancellor Tankeshwar Kumar and Registrar Suneel Kumar were among those present on the occasion. The VC said, "With most metro stations now being constructed underground, the tunnelling lab has been designed to help students understand the complexities of underground infrastructure. The integration of MIDAS software will enable students to model, design and analyse complex tunnelling systems with precision, making them industry-ready." These labs would go beyond physical infrastructure - acting as launch pads for innovation, hands-on training and applied research, he said, while adding that labs would empower students with practical skills and domain knowledge essential for careers in power systems, railway operations, tunnelling technologies and smart grid systems.
