Campus notes: Delegates leave for Madhya Pradesh
Mahendragarh: Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh, flagged off a Yuva Sangam contingent of the University for Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. Kumar said that under cultural exchange, students will get multidimensional experience of Madhya Pradesh through prayatan, parampara, pragati, paraspar sanwad and prodyogik. He expressed gratitude to the Centre for organising such an event. Dr RP Meena, Nodal Officer, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Abhiyan in the university, said that a group of students are visiting Madhya Pradesh to learn and understand about its history, art and culture. He said that Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, is an associate institute of Central University of Haryana. On the occasion, the registrar of the university, Suneel Kumar, said that this is a golden opportunity to know the art, culture and progress of Madhya Pradesh closely. He appreciated this effort of the Ministry of Education and expressed gratitude to the VC of the university. He added that it is only due to his guidance that we are able to achieve the goal of this programme.
Pupils sensitised against Ragging
Sirsa: JCD Vidyapeeth’s Dental College organised an awareness lecture against ragging, aimed at educating students on the serious issue in educational institutions. The seminar, chaired by Dr Jai Prakash, director general of the institution, featured key speakers including Dr Jagat Bhushan, a member of the Dental Council of India, and Dr Harvansh Singh, professor at Panjab University. Dr Bhushan said ragging is a crime and has a detrimental impact on victims. Principal Dr Sarkar welcomed the dignitaries and stressed the importance of tackling this menace.
Lecture on menstrual hygiene
Fatehabad: A lecture on menstrual hygiene and awareness was organised by the Women’s Cell at Chaudhary Maniram Godara Government College for Women, Bhodia Kheda in Fatehabad district. Dr Sumedha Agarwal gave detailed information to the students about the challenges faced during menstruation, misconceptions and solutions. She said that menstruation is a natural and normal process that occurs in adolescent girls during their reproductive age. It is not a disease, she said adding that if menstruation is not managed properly, many health-related diseases can arise. She informed the students about maintaining cleanliness during menstruation, using sanitary pads, taking nutritious food and drinking adequate amount of water. She also gave detailed information to the students about leucorrhoea. Principal Dr Lakhbir Kaur encouraged the students to talk openly about health-related problems.
Revised DateSheet for examinations
Bhiwani: The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) released a revised datesheet for the secondary and senior secondary (academic/open school) examinations scheduled for February/March 2025. Ajay Chopra, BSEH secretary, informed that the examinations of certain subjects have been rescheduled. The chemistry, accounting, and public administration exams, originally set for March 12, will now be held on March 15, while political science will preponed from March 15 to March 12. Additionally, the mathematics exam on March 18 will take place on March 20, while sociology and entrepreneurship will now be on March 18. For the secondary (academic/open school), the Hindi exam on February 28 will be conducted on March 7 and the mathematics exam on March 7 will be held on February 28. Other changes include the social science exam, now on March 17 and various subjects like Sanskrit, Urdu, agriculture, and music, rescheduled from March 17 to March 5. Aagaaz-2025 organised
Yamunanagar: Guru Nanak Girls College, in collaboration with Kable One and Saga Music, Karnal, hosted the mega event ‘Aagaaz-2025.’ It marked the launch of ‘Sachiara,’ the official radio station of the college, the celebration of Turban Day and the screening of the Punjabi movie ‘Gurmukh.’ S Gurbax Singh, Chairman of Unisys InfoSolutions graced the occasion as the chief guest. Among the esteemed guests were Mahant Karamjit Singh, president of the college; MS Sawhney, general secretary; Sumit Singh, founder and CEO of Infosolutions; and Saga Music and S Gurinder Singh, former Principal Khalsa College, Karnal. Director of the college Dr Varinder Gandhi and Officiating Principal Dr Narinder Pal Kaur extended a warm floral welcome to the dignitaries and the star cast of the movie. The movie was screened in the college auditorium. Dr Narinder Pal Kaur thanked all the guests for being a part of this momentous occasion.
