Campus notes: Pupils’ short films screened at fest in Rohtak

Documentaries and short films made by DLC SUPVA students Chaman Ramesh Krishan, Sachin, Akash Singh and Arvind were screened at the festival.
Lecture on infrared spectroscopy
Sonepat: An extension lecture on “IR spectroscopy” was organised by the chemistry department at GVM Girls College at Sonepat. Society president OP Paruthi and college principal Manjula Spah encouraged students to take full advantage of the session. The resource person for the lecture, Dr Hariom, associate professor at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), exhorted students to go in for higher studies and carry out extensive research to get deeper knowledge of the subject.
College holds voter awareness drive
Rohtak: Vaish College of Education organised a voter awareness programme on the college campus at Rohtak. Principal Taruna Malhotra said college students were exhorted to cast their votes in a responsible manner. They were also told to encourage others to do so by telling them about the significance of their voting right. An online oath was administered to students. ‘Filmy Palette’ at Shivaji College
New Delhi: Shivaji College’s Fine Arts Society, VIBGYOR, unveils ‘Filmy Palette’ for its ninth edition of annual fest, Artistico. Scheduled for March 7, the event invites participants to redesign iconic Bollywood posters with contemporary strokes. Participants can register in teams of two by March 5. Winners will receive cash prizes worth Rs 3,500, Rs 2,500 and Rs 1,000 while all the participants will get e-certificates.
Beyond Tragedy: A Case study contest
Ecotryst, the Economics Society of the SGTB Khalsa College, is set to host a case study competition, Beyond the Tragedy, on March 14. The event offers participants a platform to tackle real-world economic challenges with analytical prowess and innovative solutions. Focusing on contemporary issues, the competition encourages critical thinking and actionable strategies. Participants will engage with peers to propose solutions that transcend conventional approaches.
Rajguru college to host Mitahara’24
Aahaar, the food society of Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for women, is gearing up to host ‘Mitahara’24’ as part of their annual cultural fest Karvaan’24. Scheduled for March 7, the event promises a diverse range of competitions and activities. A food photography contest, food-o-shark tank competition focusing on culinary innovation, and declamation contest would be the major highlights of the event. Attendees can also look forward to food-related quizzes and other engaging games.
NorthCap awards scholarships, aid
Gurugram: The NorthCap University honoured its meritorious students at its 13th Annual Fee Concession and Scholarship Ceremony. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya was the chief guest on the occasion. A total of 370 students were awarded fee concessions, merit scholarships and financial assistance for the academic year 2023-24. Of these, 50% were girl students. Twelve meritorious girl students of STEM programmes at NCU were awarded scholarships worth Rs 31.51 lakh by Morne Fourie of Hatch Associates. A total of 72 meritorious students were also felicitated at the event with a cumulative prize money of Rs 5 lakh for being on the Dean’s List. Eleven students were awarded Rs 2.23 lakh under the VC Merit Scholarship Scheme for Innovation.
