Karnal: Dyal Singh College organised an event to observe National Deworming Day on the college premises here today. Principal Dr Ashima Gakhar said National Deworming Day, an initiative of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, aims to deworm all children under the age group of one year to 19 years from the prevalence of soil-transmitted helminths (STH). She said the theme of National Deworming Day —Eliminate STH: Invest in a healthier future for children — is appropriate as parasitic worm infections can hinder a child’s physical and cognitive development, which is detrimental to their overall health and educational outcomes.
