The camp aimed at teaching students the essential techniques of self-defence. Principal Harinder Singh Kang congratulated the club members on organising the camp successfully. He said, “Self-defence is not just a set of techniques, it is a state of mind that begins with the belief that you are worth defending.” The camp was led by Rajeshwari, a skilled karate practitioner and coach, who, along with her team, conducted the classes.
Annual NCC training camp at LUVAS
Hisar: A 10-day annual training camp of the NCC Ramp;V squadron was organised at Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) in Hisar on Monday. Commandant Colonel A Shriniwas Rao inaugurated the camp. As many as 163 cadets would be participating in the NCC camp.
Four-day Netball championship ends
Bhiwani: A four-day senior national netball championship concluded at Shri Balaji Senior Secondary School in Kalinga village of Bhiwani district on Sunday. Haryana emerged the champion in the women’s event, while Delhi won the men’s event. Over 700 players representing 28 states participated in the championship.
Awareness event at women’s varsity
Sonepat: The Central Library of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya organised a one-day awareness programme sponsored by the ORCID Outreach Programme. Vice-Chancellor Sudesh inaugurated the programme. Officiating Registrar Shweta Singh was the guest of honour at the event. The VC said there was no wealth greater than knowledge and books in the world. Describing digitisation as the need of the hour, the VC said it helped in a smooth exchange of information. She urged research scholars to take advantage of modern technology and enhance the quality of their work. Resource persons Kenan and Hitesh Solanki informed the students about the importance of ORCID. Programme convener and BPSMV librarian Ashok Kumar delivered the welcome address and highlighted the outline of the programme. Around 150 participants from various universities and colleges attended the programme.
Dayanand college cadet promoted
Hisar: Dayanand College student Sneha Chauhan has been promoted as the senior under officer in the 3rd Haryana girls battalion of the NCC. Principal Vikramjit Singh said the institution was proud of her achievement.
