Campus notes: Students exhorted to work towards self-employment

Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva called upon teachers and students to work towards making India a developed and self-reliant nation. The VC said students will have to take steps towards self-employment through innovation, entrepreneurship and internship. In the National Education Policy-2020, emphasis has been laid on making youth self-reliant through education as well as self-employment. Kurukshetra University is the first university in the country to truly implement the National Education Policy-2020 in its UG and PG programmes. He said that in 2025, they would strive to take the country forward by honestly discharging their duties towards society.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
