Students of Agriculture College, Bawal, shined at the 52nd Inter College Athletics Meet, organised recently at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, winning several medals. College Principal Dr Naresh Kaushik said Ishika, a student of the college, won the Best Athlete award. The college also won the Best College award in both male and female categories. The institute also bagged the runners-up award in the Inter-College Championship. Students and staff of the college celebrated the achievement by having refreshments together.

seven-day NSS camp concludes

Jhajjar: A seven-day camp organised by Government Post Graduate Nehru College, Jhajjar, at Jaundhi village here concluded recently. Khushi of NSS Unit-1 was adjudged the Best Volunteer and Anu the Best Camper. Dalwanti Sahrawat, a Hindi teacher at Government High School, Jaundhi, highlighted the role of teachers in personality development. Subedar Maha Singh gave information about the Army and exhorted the youth to serve the country. Vivekananda, the priest of the village temple, talked about the various forms of God, and explained the importance of the Gayatri Mantra. Former Block Education Officer Phool Singh Dhaka and Ilina Dhaka conducted meditation sessions. Volunteers participated in various activities, and celebrated Holi during the event. Physics professor Jyoti Sangwan was among those present during the camp.

Indian knowledge system seminar

Mahendragarh: The Central University of Haryana (CUH) recently organised a national seminar on the integration of the Indian knowledge system in teacher education. Vice-Chancellor Tankeshwar Kumar said the education system under the Indian knowledge tradition had been contributing to the development of society. Pawan Kumar Sharma of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, as a keynote speaker, talked about the importance of the subject in detail. In the second session, the keynote speaker, Nandita Singh Shukla from Panjab University, Chandigarh, made participants aware of the various aspects of the subject. Praveen Kumar Tiwari of Delhi University highlighted the contributions of teacher education in the Indian knowledge tradition. The technical session, focused on the inclusion of the tradition in the teacher education curriculum, was chaired by Amita Pandey Bhardwaj through the online mode, and co-chaired by Pramod Kumar. The session focused on leadership and management-based educational institutions in the Bhagwad Gita and Indian philosophy.
