Campus notes: Surya namaskar workshop ends
Kurukshetra: The Yoga Club and the National Service Scheme of Dayanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kurukshetra, concluded a six-day surya namaskar workshop under the Har Ghar Parivar-Surya Namaskar campaign. All participating students performed the 12 mudras of the surya namaskar. Officiating principal Dr Urmila Panghal addressed the students and said the surya namaskar was an ancient Indian technique, which was being widely promoted by the Haryana Yoga Commission and the Ayush Ministry through the campaign. The aim of the event was to motivate people to include the surya namaskar in their daily routines, she added. Describing the benefits of the surya namaskar, she said the 12 poses of the exercise make our body healthy, mind peaceful and happy as it generated the ‘happy hormone’ in the human mind, which improved concentration, enhanced mood and reduced stress. A total of 100 students participated in the campaign.
Budget telecast for students
Yamunanagar: The 2025-26 Budget was telecast live for the students of final year of BBA and MBA courses of the Management Department of TIMT, Yamunanagar. Director Dr Vikas Daryal said, every year, the students of the institute were shown the live telecast of the Budget in the institute, and conducting an analysis of the Budget was promoted in order to improve analytical and reasoning skills of the students.
Awards galore for karnal College
Karnal: Students of Dyal Singh College, Karnal, achieved top positions in several recent competitions. At the Inter-District Science Exhibition held at Government College for Women, the college bagged the first positions in Botany (Pulkit Joshi and Diksha) and Physics (Urvika and Palak), the second position in Zoology (Nittu and Varsha). Ridhi from the college was felicitated with the Best Explanator award in Chemistry. At Basantotsav, a national-level competition organized at IB(PG) College, Panipat, Jatin Vij secured the third place in the umbrella decoration competition, while Lokesh Juneja won the second prize for his performance in the gift-wrapping competition. Principal Dr Ashima Gakhar said, “The experience gained through these competitions is invaluable, as it inspires us to strive for excellence.” She expressed her gratitude towards the faculty for their unwavering support and encouragement.
