Captain Singh takes over as Kunjpura school principal

Col Vijay Rana handed over the charge of principal of Sainik School, Kunjpura, to Capt (IN) Gurbir Singh at a ceremonial baton exchange held at the principal’s office of the school on Saturday.

Capt Gurbir Singh is an officer from the Indian Navy’s Education Branch.

Commissioned on February 6, 2006, Captain Singh specialises in long navigation and direction, and is an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington.

His career includes key instructional and leadership roles — instructor at Naval Academy, Goa, and ND School; executive director of Navy Children School, Delhi; and Captain (Naval Education) at Naval Headquarters.

He has also served as the vice-principal of Sainik School, Imphal, and training officer at the National Defence Academy in Khadakwasla.

Col Vijay Rana has been selected for the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) at the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad.
