Nine people, including four specially abled students, suffered injuries after the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a speeding car in Sector 13, Kurukshetra, on Friday.

Four students and four women staff members of a deaf and mute school were on their way to school when a car hit their auto-rickshaw. The auto-rickshaw was badly damaged. The injured were identified as students Harsh, Jasmeet, Ayush and Virender, staff members Santosh, Neelam, Rimpi and Rina and auto-rickshaw driver Ashok Kumar.

The injured were taken to LNJP District Civil Hospital in Kurukshetra for treatment. Their condition is said to be stable. After the incident, the car driver managed to flee, leaving his vehicle behind. As per the Kurukshetra police, the vehicle was impounded and further investigation was underway.
