A CBI court in Panchkula today acquitted all eight individuals in a 2017 double-murder case. It is yet to release the detailed order in the case.

Seven years after the murder that took place in Chautala village of Sirsa, the court today acquitted the accused — Chhotu Ram Bhat, Mahendra Gangajal, Sukhwinder Minda, Mukh Ram Kalu, Sukhdeep Singh Sukh, Harsimrandeep Singh, Ravinder and Sukhpreet Singh — in the case. Ravinder was facing the charges for being involved in a criminal conspiracy while the rest, including Sukhpreet Budha, a member of the Bambiha gang, were facing murder charges.

In 2017, Ranbir Singh of the village had lodged a police complaint that his nephew Satbir Singh and another Amit Saharan were killed after two assailants fired at the office of a kinnow waxing plant owned by Pradeep Godara. The complainant said that he had saved himself by hiding under the table.
