Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, clinched the overall trophy at the prestigious inter-university cultural fest ‘Spandan-2024’, organised at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh.

The event witnessed participation from students of various universities across the country.

trophy. She said the students bagged 16 medals in various cultural competitions, bringing laurels to the institution.

While crediting the students for the success, Nehra said under the leadership of ADYW Rajesh Kumar, Yakshita and Snehlata, a group of 40 talented students represented the university at the event.

The competitions covered a diverse range of categories, including music, dance, literature, theatre and fine arts. CDLU secured the first position in seven events, second rank in six events and third spot in three events.

The university won the first spot in the classical solo singing, light vocal Indian singing, Indian group song, along with folk dance, poetry and mehndi competitions.

Meanwhile, it grabbed the second spot in western solo singing, speech, debate, skit, rangoli and poster making. CDLU students also secured the third spot in one-act play, painting and collage making.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Ajmer Singh Malik and Registrar Rajesh Kumar Bansal congratulated the students and appreciated the efforts made by them.

“The victory at Sapandan-2024 not only underscores the exceptional talent nurtured at CDLU, Sirsa, but also reaffirms the university’s commitment to excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities,” said the VC.
