On the complaint of Jagir Chand of Prahladpuri Colony, a case was registered against eight persons — Hansraj of Ambala, his son Lovekesh, Gurmeet Singh of Zirakpur, Praveen Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Ram Vinay, Vikram and Madhur at the Farakpur police station yesterday.

The complainant told the police that his relative Hansraj of Ambala had come to his house in Prahladpuri Colony of Yamunanagar about nine months ago.

He said Hansraj told him that his son Lovekesh lived in the UK.

He said they told him that they would send his son Pankajdeep, daughter-in-law Sucheta and grandson Madhur to the UK and would get his son a job as a gym trainer there.

He added that he told him that he would have to spend Rs 30 lakh for this work.

“I paid Rs 30 lakh to the accused persons in instalments. When my son, daughter-in-law and grandson reached London on October 15, 2023, the accused, Lovekesh, neither came to pick them up at London airport, nor received their phone calls,” alleged the complainant.

He alleged that the accused had given his son a fake work permit. When they demanded their money back, they threatened them with dire consequences.
