Citizens rank Yamunanagar second in state in cleanliness

The Yamunanagar-Jagadhri Municipal Corporation has ranked second based on citizen feedback under Swachh Survekshan, obtaining 2,226 points.

Gurugram stood first, receiving 2,589 points.

MC authorities claimed that they would soon be ranked first in the state based on citizen feedback, and would also get a better rank in Swachh Survekshan this year.

The MC has been undertaking several initiatives get a better ranking in the survey.

MC teams have been visiting educational institutions, residential areas and other places to make people aware about citizen feedback.

Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha noted that the district was placed second among 78 cities in the state.

“All residents of the twin cities should cooperate with the officials of the MC, and give their feedback to bring our twin cities to the first place in the state as well as the country,” Sinha added.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Pal Yadav said teams of the MC had been raising awareness about cleanliness in schools, colleges and other educational institutions.

The MC was also organising street plays, awareness rallies and various competitive programmes to promote cleanliness, he added.

He appealed to the residents to give positive feedback for the district on the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) website.
