Civic body officials to get drains cleaned in Yamunanagar

Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta conducted a surprise inspection of drains falling in the area of the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) instructed Municipal Commissioner Akhil Pilani to complete the cleaning of all drains in the twin cities before the arrival of the monsoon.

The DC instructed officials of the Municipal Corporation to get drains cleaned soon so that people did not face waterlogging issues during the rainy season.

He further instructed officials to remove dirt and silt from drains and clear plants and weeds growing nearby. He also told officials to clean dirt accumulated on banks of drains.

“I instructed all officials to complete arrangements for water drainage before the onset of the monsoon. I also instructed officials of the Public Health Department to clean sewers with sewer cleaning machines so that the problem of waterlogging does not arise anywhere in the twin cities,” the DC said. District Public Relations Officer Dr Manoj Kumar, Chief Sanitation Inspector Harjeet Singh, Vinod Beniwal, Jindal Kumar and others officials were present on the occasion.
