A Class IX student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his room in Surya Vihar Colony, Faridabad. The police have not found any suicide note from the spot but it is being believed that he took the step after being denied a mobile phone. The police are investigating the case.

The student was a government school student.

The incident took place on Tuesday late evening, when the victim’s mother his body hanging from the noose of a towel tied to the equipment made for exercise.

After the police reached the spot, he was taken to Badshah Khan Civil Hospital, where he was declared dead. His body was handed over to his kin after the post-mortem examination.

“No suicide note has been found from the spot. The police are investigating the cause behind the suicide. We are also trying to find out whether he was upset over not getting a mobile phone or there was some other reason behind it,” said Inspector Ranvir Singh. — OC
