The condition of the waterworks supplying water to various residential sectors, including sector 1, 2 3, 4 and 5 in Hisar town, is pathetic. The boundary wall of the waterworks is broken, turning the place into a dumping point for the adjoining settlement.

A resident Mehar Singh Bangar said heaps of garbage could be seen lying inside the waterworks premises. The prevailing conditions had raised serious concerns about the purity of the water which was supplied to the households in various residential areas in the town.

Bangar urged the Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) administration to take immediate action on the issue. He demanded that the broken wall of the waterworks be repaired without delay and the garbage dumped inside be removed. He said the measures also be taken to ensure it did not become a dumping site again.
