As part of the ‘Haryana City Cleanliness Campaign’ initiated by the state government, a special drive has been launched in the urban areas of Sirsa district with the aim of making cities cleaner, greener and pollution-free.

On Tuesday, several towns and municipalities in Sirsa took up intensive cleanliness activities. According to Additional Deputy Commissioner Virendra Sahrawat, the Municipal Council of Sirsa carried out drives at Barnala Road and Multani Colony. From early morning, sanitation workers collected garbage from roads, streets and vacant plots. Residents were also advised to dispose of waste only at designated collection points and to avoid the use of plastic.

Similarly, the Rania Municipality undertook a campaign in the main market and adjoining colonies. Municipal officers and staff interacted with shopkeepers and residents, urging them to keep the surroundings clean. Shopkeepers were specifically reminded not to litter and to maintain a hygienic environment for their customers. Cleanliness work was also undertaken in Jiwan Nagar, Kalanwali and the new grain market area of Rania.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner said cleanliness could not be achieved by sanitation workers alone and required public cooperation. “If every citizen keeps their home and surroundings clean, the dream of a clean India and a clean Haryana can be realised,” he said.
