People at city chowks, shops and public places could be seen busy in discussion about the mayoral elections. Some are praising the Congress while others are backing the BJP-JJP.

Rajesh Arora, Vishal of Hem Nagar, Rohit of Housing Board colony and Kuldeep of Sector 14 were standing at a juice corner in Hem Nagar talking about the Mayoral post.

They said that in the beginning, the Congress had an edge but in the past 3-4 days, the campaign for BJP candidate Lalit Batra got a boost. “We expect a close contest,” they said.

Gaurav and Kunal of Tara Nagar said that the position of the BJP mayoral candidate had got better in the past five days. The people have made up their minds, but they are keeping their choice to themselves, said Kunal.

Ajay Kumar Saini of Devru road said that though 10 candidates are in the fray for the mayoral post, a tough contest is between Congress and BJP-JJP candidates here.

Deepak Kumar of Jeewan Nagar and Vikas of Sector 14 said that December 30 would decide the fate of the candidates.
