Keeping in view the rapid surge in Covid cases, traders at Shouri Cloth Market have decided to impose a self lockdown for a week till May 9.

This was stated by Gulshan Ishpuniyani, president, Shouri Cloth Market Association. The market has more than 1,200 shops of wholesale and retail where customers from Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and other districts of the state come to buy clothes.

Rajeev Malhotra, president, Rohtak Wholesale Cloth Mercantile Association, said the decision to impose the lockdown in Shouri Market was taken after discussing the prevailing situation. Besides, the Railway road market too would remain closed up to May 7.
