To woo urban segments ahead of the Assembly poll, CM Nayab Singh Saini announced to increase the powers of councillors within Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipal Committees.

The CM announced to introduce meeting allowance for the ULB representatives. He stated that until ward committees are formally established, councillors would be granted full authority to ensure the acceleration of development work within their wards.
