Karnal, August 13

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today took part in the Tiranga Yatra in his constituency, Karnal, and referred to the Tricolour as a symbol of unity. The Tiranga Yatra is part of the nationwide campaign “Har Ghar Tiranga” from August 11 to August 14, launched on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, encouraging people of the country to hoist the national flag at their residences.

CM Saini also exhorted the residents to hoist the national flag at their homes, shops, offices, and other establishments. He said there was enthusiasm among the people for the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ and the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

“The Tricolour is our pride and identity, and it is our collective duty to uphold its respect and honour,” Saini said while addressing a gathering during a public meeting before the start of the yatra from Ramlila ground. He appealed to the people to participate in this campaign.

While interacting with mediapersons, he launched a scathing attack on the Congress, saying it has exploited all sections of society. “The Congress is left with nothing. It is limited to just meetings. It has exploited farmers, youth, women, poor, and other sections of society. Everyone knows if the Congress comes to power, the condition of everyone becomes miserable. People are fed up with the Congress as they have suffered during its regime,” the CM said. He expressed confidence that the BJP will form the government in the state for the third term.

Regarding the ED sealing properties worth Rs 122 crore belonging to INLD and Congress leaders in a mining case, Saini said the ED is taking action against those who have indulged in corruption, and that whosoever is guilty will face the consequences.

He did not respond to questions about the parole of Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is convicted in a rape and murder case.

Earlier, Saini, along with other party leaders, took out the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ from Ramlila ground, which ended at Sanatan Dharam Mandir on Kunjpura road.
