Addressing a press conference here, the Chief Minister said the government had decided to release benefits under the scheme every three months, with the entire amount for the quarter being sent in a single instalment.
He recalled that the Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi app was launched on September 25, coinciding with the 109th birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. The first instalment was released on November 1 to women found eligible under the scheme.
Giving an update on the enrolment process, Saini said that as of November 30, 9,00,592 women had applied through the app, of whom 7,01,965 were found eligible. Among these, 5,58,346 beneficiaries have completed their Aadhaar KYC, while verification for 1,43,619 applicants is still pending.
“The scheme is available to all women aged 23 years or above whose family’s annual income is less than Rs 100,000,” the Chief Minister said, adding that a significant feature of the initiative is that every eligible woman within a family can receive benefits, not just one member.
