CM: Work on Sikh, Ravidas museums to be expedited

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday directed officials to expedite work on the Sikh Museum and the Guru Ravidas Museum in Kurukshetra, saying both projects must be completed within the stipulated timeframe to inspire future generations.

“To preserve the heritage of Sikh Gurus and spread the philosophy of their life and ideals among the masses, the detailed project report (DPR) of both museums should be prepared at the earliest,” Saini said while chairing a review meeting here.

The CM said the Sikh Museum, to be built on three acres, should serve as a guiding force for the youth. “The construction must present a complete glimpse of Sikh history, culture and the Gurus’ contribution. It should also realistically depict the historic battles fought by the Gurus for the protection of religion, justice and human values, so that the saga of sacrifice and struggle remains a source of inspiration for centuries,” he stated.

Emphasising the importance of the Guru Ravidas Museum, Saini said it should be both architecturally grand and content-rich. “This museum should effectively present the life philosophy, spiritual thoughts, and the message of social harmony of Guru Ravidas,” he said.

The CM said land for both projects had been allocated by the Haryana Shaheri Vikas Pradhikaran — 3 acres for the Sikh Museum and 5 acres for the Guru Ravidas Museum.
