To ensure transparency, regular monitoring and management of funds, the Department of Higher Education has directed principals of 182 government colleges across the state to update information about their institutions as per the new modules on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) portal.

A DHE official said the new modules had been finalised during a meeting chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary (Higher Education) recently. All colleges would now have to maintain a comprehensive record of their non-consumable IT items in the online stock register, and provide details such as item name, quantity, bill number and date.

The college authorities have to mention a list of all available books in the college library module and update the headwise fund available in the college on the portal under the ‘fund management’ category. The principals have also been directed to update the availability of funds in their colleges on the last date of every month, sources said.
