Commando hurt after escort vehicle overturns

Kurukshetra, July 13

A police commando was injured when an escort vehicle of the convoy of Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies Subash Sudha overturned after its tyre burst on NH 152-D at Pehowa today.

As per information, the minister was on his way from Chandigarh to Mahendragarh to attend a party meeting regarding the event of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to be held on July 16.

The commando, Sanjeev Kumar, was taken to a government health facility at Pehowa with injury in his left hand. He was referred to a private hospital for treatment.

Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and some other BJP leaders, who were also travelling on NH 152-D, reached the spot and enquired about the accident.

Sudha, who was present at the hospital, said: “We were heading towards Mahendragarh to attend a party meeting. The tyre of the escort vehicle burst and the axle broke, following which the vehicle went out of control and overturned. One commando suffered injuries.”
