Gurugram: The Gurugram MC on Friday issued challan to a commercial building, Vipul Plaza, located in Suncity, Sector 54, for violating the provisions of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016. Jitendra Kumar, senior sanitation inspector of Zone-3 area, said a fine of Rs 25,000 had been imposed on this commercial building as it is mandatory for all bulk waste generators to dispose of the waste generated from their premises on their own. The sanitation team also took action in the Arcadia Market and surrounding areas and imposed a fine of Rs 17,000 on 13 violators for using banned plastic bags and spreading garbage in the open. TNS

2 get life term for murder

Gurugram: The Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Tarun Singal on Friday sentenced a woman and her husband’s cousin to life imprisonment for the murder of her husband in 2019. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on the convicts. In November 2019, the police had received information regarding a person being shot at on the road leading from Sihi village towards the Dwarka Expressway. The injured was taken to the hospital, but he died during treatment. The deceased was identified as Sandeep. The convicts were identified as Sachin of Bayana village of Ghaziabad district, and Jyoti of Dhanju village in Meerut district. Sandeep’s brother said his maternal uncle’s son and Sandeep’s wife Jyoti had shot him dead.
