The RWA representatives and other residents of the township aired their grievances about frequent power outages and breakdowns due to faulty power lines in the township.
"The residents have requested the Municipal Corporation to take over the township after the completion of electricity-related work," said the Commissioner.
The RWA representatives said that the water being supplied to the township was smelly, which raised doubt over its treatment by the STP.
They urged the Commissioner to get the timings of water supply increased from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
The residents also complained about the lack of maintenance of the community club and parks.
The Commissioner sought reports from the departments concerned regarding the grievances of the residents.
"The officers concerned of the power nigam and the electricity wing of the Haryana Urban Development Authority will jointly inspect the power network in the township and submit a report," said Singh.
He maintained that a report would also be sought from the State Pollution Control Board regarding the foul smell emanating from the water treated by the STP.
"Apart from this, the Sub-Divisional Officer and the District Town Planner have been asked to inspect the provision of the basic amenities at the township," the Commissioner stated, adding that appropriate action would be taken on the basis of the report submitted by the said officers.
Officials of the Municipal Corporation and the departments concerned were present at the meeting.
Residents of Omaxe City have been complaining about the lack of basic amenities and other facilities for a long time.
They have also been urging that the township be taken over by the local Municipal Corporation so that the provision of the civic services can be ensured.
The matter has been taken up at the monthly meetings of the District Grievances Committee several times, but no effective solution has come out to date.
