The objective of the programme was to underline the importance of effective communication at the workplace and to enhance communication skills among employees.
As a key-note speaker, Prof Randeep Rana, head of the Department of English and Foreign Languages, addressed the participants.
“Communication at the workplace is not just an exchange of information, but it lays the foundation of mutual trust, clarity and positive environment. Things like correctness of language, understanding the attitude of the listener, body language and feedback are very important in effective communication,” he added.
Rana also clarified through examples that sometimes, a good idea gets rejected just because it is not presented effectively. He also guided the participants on practical aspects like active listening, empathetic responses and professional email writing.
Dr Anar Singh Dhul, Coordinator, Administrative Staff College, said that in the current administrative and educational environment, effective communication not only increases efficiency, but also plays an important role in team spirit, coordination and institutional development.
At the end of the training session, Assistant Coordinator Nitin Siwach gave the vote of thanks. Officers, employees and administrative staff from various departments/branches participated in the programme.
