A day after former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda alleged that the BJP government in the state had failed to ensure MSP to farmers, former minister and BJP state spokesperson Krishan Murti Hooda accused him of making a wrong statement and advised the Congress leader to introspect before criticising others.

“The Congress leaders are now talking about farmers’ welfare, whose own government in the state acquired fertile land at nominal rates in the name of development and sold it to corporate houses. Everyone remembers that under the previous Congress regime, farmers were given cheques for Rs 2 or 3 for crop loss, whereas the BJP government has fixed compensation of thousands of rupees per acre for crop loss,” Krishan Murti claimed in a release issued here today.

The BJP leader also launched a scathing attack on Hooda over farmers’ issues, asserting that the Haryana government led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was the only regime across the country to ensure MSP for 24 crops. He highlighted that the Saini government had recently given farmers a Diwali bonus by increasing the support price of sugarcane by Rs 15 per quintal. In addition, farmers were being provided Rs 6,000 annually under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, he added.

“The Congress and its leaders have become marginalized and have no real issues to raise, so they are attempting to mislead people with baseless statements. However, the public is already aware of their intentions, and no one places their trust in them,” Krishan Murti added.
